We are seeking a Senior AP1000 Manufacturing Supplier Performance Engineer to lead and support the manufacturing readiness and supplier capability assessments for critical mechanical components. This role is essential to ensuring manufacturing feasibility, mitigating production risks, and securing supplier performance for one of the world’s most advanced nuclear reactor designs.

Your Impact

As part of the Supplier Performance team, you will:

  • Define manufacturing plans and sequences for mechanical components based on 3D models and technical specifications.
  • Lead Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) reviews to identify production risks and collaborate with engineering and quality experts to resolve them.
  • Evaluate supplier capacity and technical readiness, ensuring alignment with Westinghouse’s quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure delivery certainty—on time, to spec, and within scope—by applying robust oversight models and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Provide technical guidance and manufacturing expertise to suppliers to simplify processes and improve efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Process Planning

  • Define and document manufacturing routes and key process steps from 3D models.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, or improved manufacturability.

Supplier Evaluation and Capability Development

  • Assess supplier infrastructure, process maturity, equipment, and workforce readiness.
  • Verify the availability of machines, materials, and capacity for project demands.

Supplier Oversight & Quality Assurance

  • Develop supplier oversight plans including witness/hold points.
  • Coordinate supplier audits, process reviews, and quality surveillance activities.
  • Drive resolution of non-conformities and lead root cause analysis.

Supplier Performance Management

  • Monitor performance metrics via dashboards and scorecards.
  • Ensure complete and timely review of supplier documentation and progress reporting to project stakeholders.

 

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
  • Fluency in Polish and English; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as forming, welding, machining, heat treatment, and on Destructive Test.
  • Proven experience in :
    • Developing and reviewing Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs.
    • Leading complex, cross-functional supplier engagements.
    • Applying DFM and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) methodologies.
    • Performing process capability analysis and qualification activities.
  • Safety-conscious mindset with experience in regulated industrial environments (nuclear, aerospace, defense, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel across Europe (~25%) for supplier site visits.
