BWR Undervessel Technician

About the role:

A Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) Undervessel Technician is a highly specialized nuclear professional responsible for the mechanical maintenance, inspection, and repair of components located directly beneath the reactor pressure vessel.

Training in Chattanooga, TN beginning November 2026. In March 2027 you will report to Monticello Nuclear Plant.

Key Responsibilities:

BWRs insert their control rods from the bottom of the reactor (unlike Pressurized Water Reactors, which insert them from the top), the undervessel area is a highly complex, tight, and radiologically sensitive environment. These technicians primarily operate during scheduled refueling outages.

Qualifications:

• You must be at least 18 years of age.
• You will pass a stringent nuclear access background and drug screen.
• 3+ years of experience.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $30/hour to $45/hour.
