Westinghouse Rotating Equipment Services (RES) is seeking a new or recently graduated Engineer (at our Churchill & Madison, PA facilities) to support the RES team

 

The Rotating Equipment Services (RES) team, primarily based at the Waltz Mill Site in Madison, PA, supports the nuclear industry with engineering expertise and onsite refurbishment of large pumps, motors, and related equipment.  Approximately 30 miles from Waltz Mill Site, the RES team operates an array of research and test laboratory equipment at the Churchill Site, which is called the Reactor Coolant Pump Excellence Center.  Here, a team of lab technicians and engineering plan and execute test related to Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) seals.

 

This position will support work at both locations, with a primary focus on the Reactor Coolant Pump Excellence Center in Churchill, PA.

 

The expectation is that this individual will spend 3-4 days per week in the office.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Perform the following under direction and mentorship of an experienced team member:
  • Prepare and review technical packages including drawings, specifications, and procurement requirements for various mechanical products
  • Work effectively as part of a cross-functional team including quality engineering, supply chain management, technicians, and supplier teams
  • Provide technical input during the proposal process
  • Develop and/or maintenance of Material Master Data and Parts Baselines in SAP
  • Determine critical equipment characteristics to support equipment qualification and commercial dedication activities
  • Assist in the development of equipment qualification test procedures, evaluate test results and review final reports
  • Prepare Commercial Dedication Instructions
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing and shop operations for a variety of products

 

Who You Are: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical is required
  • 0-4 Years relevant engineering related experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical components including, but not limited to pumps, valves, mechanical seals, motors, etc. is desired
  • Ability to learn and operate fluid systems test equipment for Research & Development or Equipment Qualification
  • Ability to organize test results into technical reports
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Proficiency with other engineering software (FEA, programming,
  • Ability to travel occasionally (<10%) to suppliers, customer facilities, or industry conferences
