We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Specialist with our Steam Generator Inspection and Repair Operations team. This position is based out of our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA, but can be done remotely. Candidates can expect to travel roughly 30% of the time in this role, including internationally.

 

The Field Specialist is responsible for the supervision and field implementation of work on the primary side of the steam generator (SG).  This work includes Eddy Current Testing (ECT) of the steam generator tubing, tube repair, and vessel cover closure services performed at customer sites. As experience and capability increase, may be assigned to several low to medium complexity projects simultaneously.

 

Your Day To Day:

  • Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and scope, schedule, and cost 
  • Manage all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders.   Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups following an integrated change management process. Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status. Maintain project databases, systems and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation between project team members.
  • Properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. 
  • Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships with team, customer, and other stakeholders (e.g. internal management) to facilitate successful project completion as well as identify opportunities for additional business growth.
  • Identify, assess, and implement improvement opportunities which will add value.

 

Who You Are:

  • A.) Bachelor’s degree in applicable disciplines: Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related technical degree or (B.) equivalent non-degreed technical experience in an industrial environment (field service, nuclear, power plant, NDE Eddy Current Testing, oil/gas, construction).
  • (A.) 2 years project management experience or (B.) 1 years project management/supervisory experience and 1 years experience in technical role: field service, nuclear, power plant, NDE, Eddy Current Testing oil/gas, construction industry.
  • Familiar with the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge
  • Ability to travel approximately 30%, including internationally.
