Job Location: 680 Waltz Mill Road, Madison, PA 15663 Some travel (up to 20%) may be required to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.

Job Duties: Serve as the industry lead for Westinghouse for the design, operation, and troubleshooting of Westinghouse Reactor Coolant Pump seals, a significant customer-facing position in the nuclear power industry. Participate in industry conferences and meetings to support nuclear power plants and present technical materials. Assist power plants with analyzing/evaluating/troubleshooting operational issues associated with Reactor Coolant Pump seals and interfacing systems. Lead the design and development of new seal products, including engineering analysis, testing, and qualification. Identify and assist with new business opportunities. Travel will include both domestic (nuclear power plants, utilities, conferences) and international travel to other Westinghouse locations (Europe, Middle East and Africa region as well as Asia region), as well as international nuclear power plant customers. Participation to international conferences on pumps, sealing and research are also expected.


Requirements: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal/Hydraulic Engineering and 10 years of work experience in the job offered or 10 years of experience in a related occupation. Experience must include:


  • Technical leadership of complex engineering projects, across various services including Quality Assurance, Financials, Shop Technician and Manufacturing and documented expertise in Chemistry and metallurgy, manufacturing engineering and licensing/regulatory implementation.
  • Developing analytical fluid-hydraulic calculation tools for pump and sealing applications.
  • Use of Matlab as compiling and calculation software is required.
  • Utilization of Finite Element Analysis software such as ANSYS products (both Workbench and APDL mechanical tools).
  • Developing schedule and cost for complex, multi-year projects involving multiple work groups.
  • Use of design and fabrication codes for domestic and international product development (such as ASME, ASTM, RCC-M, ESPN, JSME).
  • Use of complex fluid distribution systems, familiar with P&ID drawings
  • Use of thermal, mechanical and fluid measurement systems.
  • Use of mechanical drawings and Autodesk software.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical work and use of hand tooling.
  • Develop and present technical subjects to wider industry.
  • 20% Domestic and International Travel
