Westinghouse seeks a Senior Project Engineer in our Waltz Mill (Madison, PA) facility to support the Rotating Equipment Services (RES) organization within Americas Outage & Maintenance Services (AOMS). The RES organization works on projects to refurbish and remanufacture Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) components and related equipment to bring safe, high quality, and cost effective solutions to its customers in the commercial Nuclear industry.  This position would work directly with the shop operations as well as interfacing roles and organizations to drive completion and resolve challenges encountered throughout the lifecycle of such projects.

You’re Day-to-day:

  • Provide technical input during the proposal process.
  • Prepare and review technical work instructions (procedures) for execution on the shop floor.
  • Plan and procure parts needed to perform shop work.
  • Raise and resolve technical issues or logistical challenges encountered throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support and provide technical oversight for shop technicians performing maintenance work.
  • Process necessary paperwork for non-conformances encountered during work.
  • Work effectively as part of a cross-functional team including quality engineering, supply chain management, project management, and shop technicians.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Gain working knowledge of pump decon loop system located at Waltz Mill to support maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, etc.
  • Support the planning and implementation of current and future capital investment projects

Who You Are:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience including a manufacturing background
    • Associate’s degree with additional professional experience will be considered
  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry is required
  • Proven knowledge and experience with reactor coolant pumps or other rotating equipment (motors, seals, auxiliary pumps, commercial motors) is desired
  • SAP knowledge, especially requisitioning is desired
  • Experience with creating and interpreting technical writing, specifications, and drawings for mechanical equipment. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding and use Human Performance Tools, INPO Principals, Industrial Health & Safety, and ALARA principals, and a safety conscious work environment
