This Senior Project Manager position is with Westinghouse Reactor Services group specifically specializing in Fuel Services work where the project team reconstitutes nuclear fuel, uses various Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE) methodologies to validate fuel integrity and/or cleans fuel through ultrasonic means at operating and new construction power plants.  Responsible for all project management processes on small complexity projects or on a portion of medium complexity projects.  Supervise small team sizes (average 4-8 team members) which may include project controls and crew supervisors.   May serve as a Technical Inputs Lead for the smaller complexity proposal projects as assigned.  Customer interaction and interface will occur daily while on the job site.  Project durations are variable; 5 days to 2 months with some extended travel opportunities to interested personnel.  Projects occur throughout the year and the successful candidates can contribute to multiple projects each year as the primary project manager, backshift project manager or shift supervisor.  All project management is performed in accordance with the established Westinghouse policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. 

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
  • Based on project plan, follow department protocols for acquiring team members as needed to complete the work.
  • Manage all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders.  
  • Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups following an integrated change management process.
  • Coordinate project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status.
  • Maintain project databases, systems and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation between project team members.
  • Properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools.
  • Perform final project quality assessment and report out.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships with team, customer, and other stakeholders (e.g. internal management) to facilitate successful project completion as well as identify opportunities for additional business growth.
  • Identify, assess, and implement improvement opportunities which will add value.

 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline.
  • 2 years project management experience OR 1 years project management experience and 1 years experience in technical role in nuclear or construction industry.
