The Shop Equipment Engineer will work within the Rotating Equipment Services (RES) group supporting project operations through equipment maintenance, design, and long range planning for equipment and tooling.  The incumbent will also support the Waltz Mill Service Center as a whole through infrastructure design and upgrades.


Your Day to Day:

  • Design and support procurement & fabrication of shop tooling, lifting fixtures, containers & equipment upgrades for shop use
  • Procure parts & material for general shop use, tooling, consumables
  • Manage a shop equipment maintenance program & overall equipment effectiveness
  • Manage capital plan for the organization including new and replacement equipment 
  • Serve as a backup for setup and executing motor testing
  • Implement facility upgrades to support business growth initiatives
  • Support the overall Service Center with engineering tasks (including development of drawings/blueprints)
  • Lead teams for implementing shop process improvement initiatives & equipment upgrades
  • Act as single point of contact for resolution of facilities related work involving the shop


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's of Science Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or equivalent field of study)
  • 5 years minimum of relevant experience
    • 10+ years experience preferred
  • Skills:
    • 3D Modeling (Solidworks, CAD, Inventor)
    • Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems
    • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment & processes
    • Familiarity with engineering drawing standards 
    • Strong communication & technical writing skills (English)
      • Six sigma / lean manufacturing experience preferred
      • Experience in the nuclear industry preferred
      • CNC experience preferred
