Senior Engineer, at Westinghouse, you will be part of a talented team that supports the nuclear field service product lines!  

Generall Job Functions: In this role, you’ll help to create and maintain Non-Destructive Testing and robotic delivery systems for our internal and external nuclear customers.  We need electrical/software system experts to develop, design, and diagnose our systems to continuously improve performance and robustness. Ideal candidates have both a software and electrical background. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority)

Your Day to Day:

  • Designing, developing, and enhancing software for robotic delivery systems (writing, debugging, and testing code during the development cycle)
  • Selecting hardware control components, integrating them into automated data acquisition systems, and developing the software to control them.
  • Identifying areas of weakness in existing systems and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and understanding problems in the deployment of complex systems into challenging field conditions.  Develop ways to understand and solve them.
  • Pursue state of the art development and design practices.

 

Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies: 

Who You Are:

  • BS in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering with 5-10 years’ experience
  • Advanced degree in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering Preferred
  • Communicating with internal and external system operators to troubleshoot issues in-person or over email, phone, video chat, etc.
  • Understanding motion control theory/application programming.
  • Software development using Visual Studio (C/C++/C#) for Windows 10
  • Previous work with robotics, and/or motion controllers
  • Graphical User Interface (GUI) development in using Win32 API, MFC, Java or WinForms.
  • 3D data modeling using OpenGL
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Non-Destructive Examination (Ultrasound and/or Eddy Current) principles.
