As a Cost Manager you will be responsible for leading and overseeing cost management and cost accounting activities across projects and programs within the function or region. You will provide senior leadership to cost management teams, ensures agreement of financial and operational plans with our goals, and delivers accurate cost reporting to executive leadership. As a Cost Manager you will apply deep functional expertise and broad business knowledge to influence strategy, manage resources, and resolve complex, high‑impact issues. The team is working 3 days per week at the office.
Responsibilities:

Lead and direct the implementation of cost accounting methods, systems, and controls across projects and programs.

Oversee cost control systems to ensure accurate cost tracking, reporting, and analysis in support of operational and strategic decision‑making.

Manage and interpret cost audits; ensure corrective actions are implemented and risks are mitigated.

Prepare and review cost accounting and financial reports for presentation to senior and executive management.

Provide leadership to Cost personnel and may also manage first‑line supervisors and/or professional staff.

Develop financial and operational objectives within the assigned area and ensure operational plans align with overall business strategy.

Contribute to the development of functional strategy through applied expertise, leadership insight.

Apply advanced managerial expertise to achieve financial performance, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external customers to identify emerging needs and opportunities.

Anticipate demand and workload trends to proactively align operational priorities and resource plans.

Manage financial and staffing resources to ensure cost and performance objectives are achieved within the assigned area.

Resolve complex operational, technical, customer, and organizational issues with implications beyond the immediate area of responsibility.

Develop and execute operational plans that align cost management activities with functional and enterprise objectives.

Influence customer and organizational leadership to gain alignment and accomplish operational and strategic goals.

Manage employee performance across teams through goal setting, performance assessment, coaching, and development planning.

Ensure consistent application of cost management standards, controls, and best practices across the organization.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of functional, operational, or strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant management and cost experience.

10+ years of relevant management and leadership experience, including responsibility for managers, supervisors, financial strategy, and cost control, in addition to technical cost or Project Controls experience.

We prefer professional certifications, but they are not required. Relevant credentials may include CMA, CPA, project controls certifications, or advanced leadership and management qualifications.
