About the role:

As a Project Manager – Nuclear Decommissioning & Waste Management Projects you will lead mid-sized nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management projects in EMEA. You will deliver projects safely, within budget, and in compliance with nuclear industry regulations and quality standards. We ask that you have leadership, partner management skills, and project execution skills in an international environment.

 

You will report to the D&WM Program Manager Eastern Countries and be located in Slovakia or in Spain.

Model of work: hybrid.

Travels across Europe: up to 50% of your time.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management projects from planning through execution and close-out.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate diverse engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations, environmental standards, and company quality management systems.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures.
  • Manage project scope, cost, schedule, and change control processes.
  • Present project status reports to senior management and clients.
  • Support contract management, procurement activities, and commercial negotiations.
  • Foster communication with partners across multiple European countries.
  • Promote a safety culture and ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent project management certification
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably in nuclear decommissioning, radioactive waste management, energy, infrastructure, or other regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing mid-sized engineering or industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken); Spanish or Slovak language skills are an advantage. Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time throughout Europe.

 

Preffered:

  • Familiarity with European nuclear regulations and decommissioning practices.
  • Knowledge of project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.

 

This position may be based in multiple European countries. Compensation is location-specific and will be determined in accordance with local market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate's qualifications. For positions based in countries with pay transparency requirements, the applicable salary range will be provided in accordance with local legislation.
