Supplier Performance Engineer

The Manufacturing Process Subject Matter Expert (SME) team is responsible for supporting the SPE activities in component design, commodity strategy, and supplier selection for products / processes. 

 

Additionally, the Additive Manufacturing (AM) SME will be the go-to resource for additive manufacturing process development in our Supply Chain and will matrix to the Westinghouse AM Center of Excellence (AM CoE).

 

The primary responsibilities of the AM SME are: 

  • Lead AM supplier development and qualification activities for new products (e.g., identification of project risks and mitigating actions, managing project schedules, approval of supplier process documents, process capability analyses, measurement system analyses, etc.).
  • Maintain industry leading AM knowledge through training, research, process councils, etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement with our AM suppliers through supplier evaluations and flawless launch processes, using disciplined problem-solving approaches.
  • Mentor and train members of the SPE teams on AM.
  • Lead complex AM issue recovery efforts.

Maintain a close relationship with his/her peers in the SPE teams to share best practices, drive process standardization, and coordinate on global cost-out and continuous improvement projects that require SME support.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering
    • Graduate studies in additive manufacturing desired.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience, such as AM LPBF development and production.  
  • Minimum 5-years of experience in the nuclear or related energy industry (desired).

Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualifications

         10-50% Travel (globally)
