About the role:

As a Junior Engineer Waste Management you will design and purchase waste treatment equipment. The engineer contributes to further technology development and improvements. In that role the engineer has direct contact with the other Waste Management engineers, customers, suppliers, and the project managers..

You will report to the Manager, Senior Waste Management and be located at Mannheim.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation of design documentation such as design specifications, P&IDs, data sheets, component lists, operation manuals, functional descriptions, design calculations, drawings, FAT and SAT procedures, final documentation
  • Layout of waste management equipment
  • Supervision of suppliers and manufacturing process
  • Participation in FAT and SAT activities at supplier and customer sites
  • Technical support and troubleshooting for on-site activities
  • Discussions with customers and authorities
  • Preparation of proposal participation (design concepts, technical descriptions, scheduling, calculation of efforts)
  • Working in international teams
  • Tavelling and onsite activities (worldwide)

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in mechanical or process engineering (or similar)
  • Knowledge about waste management systems or nuclear engineering and licensing processes
  • 1 - 2 years of work experience in Waste Management systems design
  • Fluent in German and English
  • MS Office products knowledge
  • CAD skills are a plus
  • Strong technical interest, predisposition for multi-tasking, flexibility, understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to travel (internationally) if the situation allows it
  • Driving License would be appreciated
