About the role:

As a Product Technician you will join our bolt replacement and special products team in Mannheim, contributing to the development of specialized, often remotely operated, equipment used for repair processes on nuclear power plant components. You will participate in the full lifecycle of innovative tools and systems—from concept design through testing, qualification, and field deployment and product maintenance and improvement.

You will report to the Manager NDE & Special Products and be located at Mannheim.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design of concepts for equipment and processes used for the repair of key nuclear power plant components.
  • Work closely with the design engineers to make the concepts a reality.
  • Support the development, testing, and qualification of new equipment, including participation in customer reviews and on-site activities.
  • Contribute to FOAK (First-Of-A-Kind) projects and drive products from prototype to maturity.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation such as Work Instructions, Development Programs, Test Reports, and Bills of Materials, etc.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing products, including troubleshooting, spare parts coordination, technician training, etc.
  • Contribute to active projects and work closely across departments, sites, and international teams.
  • Foster collaboration across countries within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Min. 3 years of experience in development, design and testing of specialized electromechanical equipment.
  • German in speaking and writing (mother tongue or C2-Level) - required
  • English in speaking and writing (min. B1, B2 preferred) - required
  • French in speaking and writing (optional)
  • Knowledge of machining / chip-removal processes (optional)
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics (optional)
  • Knowledge of materials and welding (optional)
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset
  • Team-oriented with open and clear communication·
