About the role:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be a key player in developing and applying processes and equipment for the field application. As a project engineer here with us, your main responsibility is to support ongoing and future projects. In your role you will directly report to the head of department.
You will report to the Project Director and be located at Mannheim.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate and plan a dismantling project from an engineering perspective.
- Utilize and adapt existing technology from previous projects, in order to specify, design, manufacture and apply equipment.
- Prepare product documentation in accordance with applicable rules and regulations, in order to facilitate the licensing process by the customer and the authorities.
- Plan work in collaboration with the operations team, such that inefficiencies are reduced, and overall project performance is optimized. This includes development documentation for the field implementation, such as procedures.
- Process and monitor changes following an integrated change control process.
- Support the Project Manager in preparation project cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations/projections.
- Support the Project Manager in project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of status.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
- Interface to other support organization like Supply Chain Management incl. suppliers, Invoicing and Accounting departments, Sales, Quality etc.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field. Preferred: Advanced degree.
- Experience: 5–10 years of engineering work in the nuclear industry.
- Languages: Fluent English and German required.
- Soft Skills: team working and communication abilities.
