Perform work of equal or lower skill level as required.


  1. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot field machining services and equipment at customer sites. 
  2. Ensure personal and team practice and understanding of ALARA principles and a “Safety First” attitude as an integral part of all activities.  Demonstrate and promote good house keeping practices in work areas.
  3. Understand and apply the appropriate Industrial Health & Safety procedures applicable to each work assignment.
  4. Provide support to engineering and training by performing activities such as equipment modifications, equipment setup and testing, mock-up preparation, process testing, and equipment and process qualifications.  Accurately document equipment performance issues during field implementation, recommend options to the responsible system engineer, and ensure corrective actions are complete prior to next scheduled use.
  5. Provide documented feedback to engineering and internal customers regarding design documentation errors as well as recommended changes.
  6. Via training or demonstration of existing skills, operate machine tools, electrical test equipment, welding equipment, and measuring devices in the fabrication, repair, calibration, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and management skills to the level of proficiency required in the Machinist Level 2 criteria of certification.
  7. Read and interpret mechanical and or electrical drawings and blueprints.  Record data in required form.
  8. Assist in all project areas when need arises.


This position requires extensive travel (80%-90%) and working with and around hazardous materials. This position is subject to the requirements of PCI, Westinghouse and customer security, unescorted access and fitness for duty programs.

High school graduate, or the recognized equivalent plus post high school degree / certificate, or appropriate military experience with specific knowledge in electrical or mechanical curriculum and use as required.  




A minimum of five (2) year documented work experience of field Machining.  Demonstration of use of portable: drilling, boring, turning, grinding operations as a minimum. CNC operated equipment preferred. Two (2) years work experience in a machine shop maybe substituted providing that evidence demonstrates the set up and use of lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and precision grinding is provided, EDM operator or repair technician.
