As the Product Mangager (Welding and Machining Growth) you will develop and implement product strategy for Specialized Welding and Machining of nuclear power plant components.  Services to include: automated high end technologies to address component replacement, modification and repair.  Work with customer facing organizations and integrate competitive and market intelligence to develop products with strong customer value propositions.  Develop and maintain a product roadmap and manage a portfolio of products for their entire product lifecycle.  Develop business cases to justify capital and innovation investments to meet market needs while building and maintaining long term, strategic relationships with customers.  Achieve financial performance by shaping product architecture and market strategy to secure order entry backlog and maximize profitability.


Your Day to Day:

  • Lead proposal development team and oversee complex negotiations with customers to obtain contracts which contribute significant profit margin and revenue growth.  Effectively manage contract changes with support from the operations/delivery team.
  • Analyze contract requirements and develop project-specific deliverables to enable successful program implementation and to enhance customer satisfaction.  Analyze needs and develop unique customer solutions to address customer concerns.
  • Orchestrate and drive profitable product or service growth which meets or exceeds revenue and margin objectives. 
  • Develop strategic focus, communicate vision for future and promote culture that aligns with organizational goals.  Develop culture that values customer service, human performance fundamentals, radiation protection practices and safety.  
  • Develop innovative solutions to create customer value in collaboration with appropriate Westinghouse organizations.  Identify unmet customer needs through appropriate market channels especially direct customer interaction.  Develop and successfully implement product business plan – considering “breakthrough” technologies and cost improvement objectives.  
  • Maximize financial contributions to ensure product viability.  Aggregate margin-as-delivered should be greater than or equal to the product-specific objective from financial plan.  Resource utilization for business segment should be greater than or equal to financial plan target.  Financial forecasting should provide accurate assessment of financial timing and results.   
  • Develop valued business development skills in organization to ensure “bench strength” and succession planning. 
  • Support Account teams in Growth Planning, Key Opportunity Review and Deep Dives (including Capture plan development).


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business or related field.  
  • 10 – 15 years of experience required
    • Existing customer relationships and nuclear industry credibility in Welding and Machining services is a plus.
  • Background in Specialized Welding and Machining solutions is preferred but not required.

  • Demonstrate clear, crisp communication (including commitment to documentation of key customer/commercial decisions and effective communication of industry interactions).
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee project activities and opportunity management, conveying feedback on customer satisfaction, needs and opportunities.  
  • Continually scans the environment to verify products and services are adding value to both the customer and Westinghouse.
  • Demonstrates business skills, including consideration of financial impact when making decisions.
  • Consistent demonstration of driving for results.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally, as well as upstream and downstream, to create alignment and ensure work is done right the first time.
  • Build consultative relationships with customer, operations, maintenance and engineering decision-makers to enhance Westinghouse’s position as premier value-added supplier.
  • Persuasive ability to get customers to cooperate, grant approval or take action.
  • Formulates global market strategy and solution design to actively and directly impact Company’s profitability goals.
  • Establishes overall product revenue, profitability, growth objectives, market penetration and brand identification objectives, and monitors achievements.  
  • Facilitates opportunity management, conveying feedback on customer satisfaction, needs and opportunities.
  • Applies comprehensive business knowledge to complete complex and broad assignments.
