The Sr Manufacturing Specalist position is a Integral member of the Production team at the WWM Manning facility, responsible for support of all back office functions necessary to the successful execution of production plan.  Works closely with the shop lead, assembly lead, and production planner/scheduler to ensure products, materials, and services necessary in support of in plant functions are available as required.

Your Day To Day

Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority):

•    Track and expedite parts manufactured outside to WWM production schedule/needs
•    Communicate with PjM’s schedule updates for each project on a weekly basis 
•    Maintains Production Planning system

  • Importation of SWO and BOM data provided by engineering
  • Generates daily, weekly, and monthly reports for measuring and tracking production status
  • Documents and tracks COPQ and recommends corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate

•    Executes and oversees procurement of parts and materials in support of production 

•    Supports the production planner in monitoring of internal schedules, supplier dates and manufacturing reports to proactively identify potential       problems and to ensure accurate and timely information is provided to key stakeholders. Works to provide solutions to mitigate risks and             minimize disruption to work flow

•    Reconciles CAT3 (uncontrolled) material inventory
•    Coordinates with engineering for scheduling of SWO(s) release
•    Coordinates with engineering proactively to identify long lead materials and items
•    Develops Shop and Weld travelers as required for CAT 1 and/or SR projects

Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies: 

  •  Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.  
  •  4 years related experience minimum requirement
  • +10 years related experience preferred

Professional Certifications: APICS CPIM preferred
Skills and Competencies: Planning skills related to fabrication and machining operations preferred. 
Power User in MicroSoft Projects (preferred) or other (Primavera) scheduling software.
Experience with SAP or other enterprise software, Material Resource Planning (MRP) module preferred.
Experience with MicroSoft Access or other SQL database software.
