Safety Consultant - 1 Year Contract

Location: Winnebago, MN on the south end of the project and Mankato, MN on the north.

 Your Day-to-Day:

The position is responsible for providing safety consulting services to Xcel clients. Responsible for recognizing, monitoring, and making recommendations to correct workplace safety hazards through on-site audits, consulting, ergonomic assessments, and interventions according to OSHA and other regulatory agencies; and collaborating on safety policy development and training. This position will primarily serve a plant(s) or area(s), however, they may also be requested to assist with other departments within that business area.

Project Scope: Transmission build-out

Safety Position Scope: Provide safety oversight over all construction activities taking place on-site for the Rocky Mountain Solar project and provide periodic support for the Waterton Solar project.

Key Responsibilities:

 Conduct site safety orientations, participate in Pre-Job Safety Reviews and project planning to ensure successful and safe execution of work tasks, conduct daily site safety observations, provide coaching, conduct a weekly ‘all hands safety meeting’, manage all hot work permitting, overseeing all incident investigations, and generating all required documentation in SiteDocs.
