About the role:
As an Environment, Health & Safety Specialist (ASPP) you will support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Health and Safety Management System (SGSSL). You will work with the RSPP, the Employer, the Health and Safety Manager, the Competent Doctor, and HR. Together, you will identify and assess workplace risks, define preventive measures, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. You will also contribute to safety training, incident analysis, and workplace inspections to strengthen a safe and compliant working environment.
You will report to the HSE Manager and be located at our Monfalcone facility in Italy. On-site work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Identification and Assessment involves collaborating with the RSPP and Health and Safety leadership. This collaboration is necessary to identify, evaluate, and monitor physical, chemical, psychological, and biomechanical risks. It also supports the definition and implementation of preventive measures and safe work practices.
- Legislative Compliance and Certification Maintenance: Help verify compliance with health and safety regulations and help maintain safety certifications, working with regulatory bodies, suppliers, internal functions, and consultants.
- Implementation of Corporate Safety Programs: Help apply and maintain corporate safety initiatives and programs aligned with Westinghouse safety standards.
- Train and Worker Information: Define training requirements based on regulatory obligations and company processes. Coordinate with operational departments to ensure ongoing safety training for workers.
- Health and Safety Data Analysis: Collaborate with the Competent Doctor and HR on health surveillance activities. Collect and analyze data on incidents, injuries, and near misses to propose corrective actions.
- Workplace Surveillance and Inspections: Conduct targeted inspections to verify compliance with procedures and best practices. Report non‑conformities and propose corrective actions.
- Safety Communication: Support the RSPP in developing and maintaining visual communication materials related to health and safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Legal Requirements (ASPP Eligibility):
- High school diploma.
- Completion of mandatory ASPP training courses:
- Module A – introductory safety training with learning assessment.
- Module B – technical risk‑specific training with learning assessment. Italian law requires these to perform the ASPP role.

- Bachelor's degree in one of the following engineering degree disciplines:
- L7 – Civil and Environmental Engineering
- L8 – Information Engineering (electronics, automation, telecommunications)
- L9 – Industrial Engineering (mechanical, energy, materials)
- L17 – Architecture Sciences
- L23 – Building Engineering / Construction Technologies
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following engineering degree disciplines:
- 0 to 3+ years experience.
- ISO 45001 certified required
- Knowledge of workplace risk assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with health and safety management systems (SGSSL) and applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Fluent in Italian and B1 Intermediate competency in English
