Skills and qualifications:

 

  • Degree in a physical science OR equivalent training/experience
  • Significant proven experience in radioactive waste management with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Proven experience in two or more of the following: decommissioning, characterisation, disposability assessments, application of the environmental legislation, production of BAT/BPM assessments, DQO application and waste assay techniques.
  • Able to prioritise based on business needs and lead on certain projects.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Be integral to the delivery of technical projects, producing high quality deliverables and working both independently and as part of a team.   
  • Play a fundamental role in the development of other team members.
  • Able to use problem solving skills on challenging in radioactive waste management issues.
  • Knowledge of the radioactive waste management lifecycle and be able to align approaches across the project and applicable national policies and legislation.
  • Develop an open environment of continuous improvement of project/ programme including performing environmental permitting and assessment requirements (e.g. BPM).
  • Maintain a strong customer focus and able to maintain and develop client relationships.
  • Able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
