Account Manager, Supply Chain, WPB Mechanical

Location: New Stanton, PA


Your Day to Day:

We are seeking an experienced GSCS (Global Supply Chain Solutions) manager to act as a strategic partner and establish a seat at the table with both the Westinghouse Parts Business (WPB) Business Unit (BU) Mechanical segment and Newington Manufacturing stakeholders to:

  • Direct and align all supply chain requirements, planning, and activities related to assigned BU segment projects/offers/contracts
  • Create a “Lockstep” trusted relationship between GSCS and the WPB stakeholder team, understand and anticipate their needs and identify where GSCS can bring value
  • Create and align with assigned BU segment on a rolling 3-5 year forecast at a category demand plan level
  • Own the third-party supplier risk mitigation planning input for bid and proposals, including best cost country opportunities across BU segment portfolio
  • Provide input and exert influence into project planning proposals regarding:
    • Supplier selection, risk mitigation planning and optionality
    • Contractual flow down risks,
    • Schedule and cost feasibility
  • Ensure comprehensive supplier risks are understood for offer development
  • Identify and drive cost reduction activities to support BU growth strategies.
  • Own all LOA (Limits of Authority) input as it relates to their assigned BU segment’s supply chain activities
  • Collaborate with BU stakeholders and Project Management team to raise concerns where there is a gap or a conflict that could negatively impact margin as sold, margin as delivered or Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Coordinate execution of procurements within GSCS for your assigned BU segment by being the conduit with BU project stakeholders for:
    • Contract flow downs, back-to-back protections, and contractual risks at the PO (Purchase Order) level
    • Leverage shared service center transactional capability to drive proactive reporting at PO level to ensure schedule, cost, quality compliance of third-party supply base
    • Work with Supplier Performance Engineering organization to ensure oversight plans mitigate risk
    • Drive DOR (division of responsibility), roles, responsibilities between Business Unit and Supply Chain organization (e.g., Quality requisitions, scopes of work/feasibility of specifications, supplier communications, problem escalation, goods receipt, approvals, etc.)
    • Act as the first point of escalation for GSCS related concerns, take ownership of actions to address
  • Proactively oversee and influence GSCS scope for your assigned BU segment and drive continuous alignment with BU leadership to meet their supply chain expectations.


What you bring to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain or equivalent; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in in global technical firm, with experience in business operations, account management, project management, and/or supply chain supporting business functions with progressively responsible leadership positions.
  • Experience in the Nuclear industry preferred.
  • Engineering Procurement Construction sales & delivery supply chain experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with strategic and creative mindset
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Customer-service focused with relationship-building capabilities
  • Impact and influence in a project-oriented, engineering, specialized, functional-matrix environment
  • Team player to partner and collaborate across business units and functional areas
  • Strong negotiation, contracting, operational and business skills
  • Proven track record of delivering savings and other value-added results to a business segment.
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to achieve results.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP and Ariba
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, and manage organizational and high-level process changes
  • Familiarity with federal, local, corporate, and global regulations to ensure compliance specific to Nuclear industry
  • Must be adaptive, flexible, and able to function effectively in a highly-complex global environment with a proven ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Technologically adept with demonstrated ability to learn systems and processes quickly
  • Knowledge of Nuclear or similar highly regulated industry with an understanding of the implications to supply chain
