About the role:
As an Area Manager of New Stanton Component Facility, you will report to Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility. You will ensure the availability and quality of resources. This is to support the efficient production of high-quality commercial nuclear products. These products must meet stringent customer requirements on product quality, cost, and on-time delivery. Develop and implement ways to improve the use of workforce, equipment and material.
You will report to the Senior Manager of Production Planning, Inventory, and Component Manufacturing and be located at New Stanton, PA. You will support this position 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inform all employees reporting to this position about the standards and related policies and enforce them within this supervised activity.
- Implement activities necessary to ensure the quality of component manufacture.
- Direct department personnel to achieve quality, cost, and productivity improvements consistent with plant goals.
- Establish department and individual goals; monitor performance against those goals.
- Create an environment that encourages and support employee participation through involvement in decision-making and implementing change.
- Develop and implement plans for meeting customer requirements; ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and government regulations.
- Establish staffing and budget requirements consistent with plant goals and monitor results.
- Responsible for the skill and career development of employees reporting to this position, directly, or through others.
- Collaborate with other departments to meet plant/division goals.
- Maintain high employee morale in an environment of dynamic production load requirements and technological changes.
- Implement solutions to long- and short-term technical issues often requiring the obtaining of resources from outside of the department.
- Use plant, division, department, and corporate resources to address resolution of important issues.
- Communicate with plant staff management in the implementation and maintenance of plant policy.
- Must implement change following our needs and the strategic plans of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a technical, business, or engineering focus.
- Minimum 5 years management experience.
- Experience with manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing tools
- Fundamental knowledge of business and performance improvement technology and applications.
- Strategic implementation and cost savings.
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
- Knowledge of engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, and Lean Enterprise techniques.
- Knowledge of Westinghouse customers, products, suppliers, and sites.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $112,400 to $140,500 per year.
