About the role:
The Nuclear Instrumentation System (NIS) Lead Engineer will lead a team of engineers responsible for the hardware design and delivery of NIS hardware for both operating and new plant designs. This individual will be responsible for hardware designs and project documentation that meet applicable customer, technical & quality requirements.
You will report to the Mgr. Standard Hardware and Common Q Plat • Safety & Reactor Systems Engineering and will be hybrid at the New Staton, PA facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the hardware design and delivery of NIS systems and associated hardware components and subassemblies.
- Responsible for the effective operations of the team supporting hardware design documentation such as drawer drawings, cable & wiring schematics, and related deliverables for I&C products.
- Ensure that hardware designs and project documentation meet applicable system & quality requirements.
- Identify and promote process improvements and enhancements to increase quality of work products, drive standardization, and improve manufacturability.
- Compile technical and quality documentation for procurement, design, testing and manufacturing of I&C hardware products.
- Work closely with manufacturing operations to resolve issues, provide oversight, and ensure products are in accordance with drawing packages and specifications.
- Drive the resolution of technical issues identified throughout design, testing and delivery phases.
- Support development of test procedures and execution of functional tests.
- Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues. Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international).
- Execute assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements.
- Provide coaching & mentoring for engineers supporting project deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of nuclear industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility. Experience leading and directing medium to high complexity projects to successful completion.
- Strong understanding of I&C skills, products and applications in the industry.
- Strong understanding of typical industry standard drawings including P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, schematics, cabinet drawings and panel layouts.
- Knowledge of codes & standards applicable to the nuclear industry (IEEE, IEC, Regulatory Guides, etc.)
- To support complex and dynamic project execution.
- Strong verbal, with both internal and external customers and various levels of leadership.
- Gather and analyze input, evaluate alternatives, and make effective decisions.
- As part of a cross-functional team including engineering, testing, manufacturing, supply chain management, and suppliers.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $116,800 to $146,000 per year.
