Quality Engineer II

As a Quality Engineer II, you will participate as a member of the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with Westinghouse's Quality Management System, customer contract requirements, industry and regulatory codes, standards, specifications, and requirements.
Additionally, you will work toward developing, identifying, analyzing and improving existing Quality processes (i.e., back-end processes not related to manufacturing) including: applying process definition, improvement and design methodologies to identify, analyze and improve Quality processes to improve quality, reduce costs, increase efficiencies/productivity and increase customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities may include managing projects/processes, and you may coach/review the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced could be difficult and sometimes complex.
You will report to the Quality Manager and be located at our New Stanton, PA facility. This is a mobile role that is expected on site 2-3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:

Review inspection lot files and customer sales orders and project orders to create Certificate of Conformance for products.

Review project orders ensuring contractual and Westinghouse quality program requirements are incorporated into project planning and execution documents.

Apply advanced quality control techniques and statistical methods for collection of deficiency and maintenance information to identify failure causes and trends, rate performance, and measure effectiveness of QA programs.

Responsible for Continuous Improvement projects or programs, and/or the Quality Notification program for internal inspection non-conformances, and/or Calibration program for equipment and tooling.

Update or create site level quality system procedures to support inspection, calibration, production, and delivery processes.

Monitor corrective actions reports and work collaborating with functional organizations to resolve issues to ensure programmatic compliance and confirm that CAP issues are closed in accordance with corrective action program requirements, as requested.

Communicate changes in business unit and departmental QA plans/programs and conduct ongoing education, orientation, training and certification programs for appropriate personnel.

Identify and direct approach for successful resolution of product quality issues.

Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to address issues.
Track and measure the impact of implemented changes, providing data-driven reports on progress and outcomes.

Support implementation of business unit and departmental QA plans/programs according to current U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Westinghouse, customer, other QA standards for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.

Assist higher level QA personnel during internal or external quality audits.
Qualifications:

3+ years of experience

Bachelor Degree in engineering, quality, or equivalent technical discipline

Requires understanding of external standards such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Lean Six Sigma for quality, ASME B&PV Code, ANSI/ASME NQA-1 and Appendices, ANSI N45.2 and the daughter standards, IEEE Standards, and U.S. NRC Regulatory Guide series.

Understanding of the commercial nuclear industry or other similarly regulated industry.
