We're currently hiring a Shop Technician 4 at our New Stanton, PA facility. This individual must have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet all requirements and expectations of a Shop Technician 3 in the applicable discipline (I&C, Electrical, Mechanical Production or Inspection) plus execute job duties and responsibilities as noted below.

 

The role works under limited supervision for routine to complex situations; problems typically are not routine and require analysis to understand; supports day-to-day operations and production results in safety, quality and delivery; collaborates with supervisors/management, engineering, and other teams on continuous improvement; consistently exhibits individual and team leadership; may coach and review work of lower level employees; and continually increases the technical effectiveness of the team.
 

Your Day to Day:

  • All Shop Technician Level 3 requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all “Jobs” in his/her area of responsibility.  Ability to perform work in functional area.
  • Understand manufacturing and inspection processes, related equipment and procedures in his/her area.
  • Conduct Shift start-up, 5S, and Safety Audits.
  • Maintain data for Daily production results – safety, quality and delivery.
  • Responsible for Team development – not for disciplinary issues.
  • Respond to Team Leader calls by technicians.
  • Assign work to technicians, cover absenteeism and support employees when necessary.
  • Ensure parts and materials are supplied to technicians.
  • Issue work orders for quick maintenance.
  • Conduct training and cross-training.
  • Perform Observations and assure that Standardized Work is followed.
  • Facilitate small group activities and meetings.
  • Initiate and work on Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Coach, train, or mentor others at an equal or lower level of position.

 

Who You Are:  

  • High School degree or equivalent.
    • Preferred: Associates Degree related to electrical, mechanical or machining, or equivalent.  
  • 8+ years relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining or inspection skills.  Specific knowledge of electrical or mechanical drawing, or machining plus required mathematics.
    • Preferred: United States Department of Labor Journeyman Certification.
  • Meet or exceed all requirements of the Shop Technician Level 3 position consistently demonstrating required skills.
  • Nuclear Industry experience.
  • Westinghouse Parts Business experience.
