Engineer Internship : Reactor Coolant Loop analysis with ANSYS
Internship subject:
The Reactor Coolant Loop (RCL) is the main primary circuit of the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) of the Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR). Its function is to cool the reactor and brings the nuclear core heat to the steam generators, steam being produced at the secondary side of the steam generator is then sent to the turbine. The Reactor Coolant System (RCS) is made of the loops and the connected equipments such as the reactor vessel, the steam generators, the pumps and the pressurizer. The goal of the internship is to develop a more sophisticated Finite Element Model of the Reactor Coolant System in ANSYS with shell and 3D elements to perform static and dynamic analyses. A comparative study with the actual methodology using beam element model will be performed. The candidate will be working with an experienced engineer and will receive guidance on how to efficiently perform the work.
Requirement:
- Mechanical engineer student
- Interest in complex Finite Element Analysis, having some experience in this discipline is an asset.
- English level: at least technical understanding
- Work location in Nivelles.
Durée: 3 à 6 mois
Profile recherché : Student in Mechanical Engineering at Master Level
