About the role:
Within the Global Component Engineering department, the Component Structural Analysis team brings together multicultural engineers from Spain and Belgium.
As a Structural Analyst you will perform advanced technical evaluations and analyses carried out on major nuclear safety class components and piping as well as many services within the framework of the discipline of structural mechanics, such as design activities, factory/workshop follow up and support to nuclear power plant modifications or refueling outage. Your areas of expertise include: structural, fatigue and fracture mechanics assessments. The main examples of project involvement are long-term operation support, seismic qualification, major component replacement, and plant modifications.
You will report to the Component Structural Analysis Manager and be located at Nivelles (Belgium) with possibility of hybrid work arrangements. You may be required to travel to provide engineering support directly to our teams performing activities in the nuclear power plants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for manual calculations and finite element analysis calculations performed in ANSYS to verify the qualification of nuclear power plant components to the appropriate standards.
- Document analyses in English and French.
- Propose integrated solutions to technical challenges that may arise during projects.
- Participate in international project teams and communicate with relevant parties.
- Several evolutions are possible depending on the experience acquired and the performance obtained, and may lead to progress towards the path of technical expertise, project management or management.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in progress or completed.
- 0 to 4 years of experience.
- Interested in stress analysis of mechanical components, finite element analysis software for structural analysis.
- Interested in the nuclear industry.
- You are fluent in English and French and have proven report writing skills.
