Commissioning Manger, Solar

We are searching for a Commissioning Manger, Solar and BESS for a yr. contract assignment.

This person will be working on behalf of the project Owner as a Commissioning Manager of a Battery Energy Storage Project. This project is for a client that is one of the largest renewable developers in the world. This position is responsible for oversight of electrical work and startup, to ensure compliance within engineering plans, specifications of project, quality control adherence, scheduling, and safety goals.

Location: Project based in Cass County Indiana

Job Responsibilities:

• Electrical commissioning scope management, to include schedules and engineering interface.
• Works collaboratively with resources and sub suppliers in various disciplines to determine project priorities, schedule and work plans to meet milestones.
• Reporting daily, weekly and monthly on progress, quality control and safety. Attending daily POD’S to coordinate with construction team and capture progress and log any impactful delays to scheduling or milestones.
• Recording, naming and uploads of electrical installation and commissioning reports and QC photographs.
• Facilitates process with parties on request for information, and design change notifications.
• Ensures projects are efficiently, effectively and safely implemented in accordance with department procedures, local/state regulations, contracts and policies. (Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnection Utility Agreements).
• Responsible for coordination, and onsite execution of, SCADA and control vendors supporting the project.
• Responsible for investigating, and managing, all technical issues that may arise during controls integration checkout for the BESS lineups, as well as overall plant SCADA control testing and operations.
• Responsible for coordination of multiple vendors and onsite support to ensure successful project execution.
• Responsible for accurate account of equipment punch-list items that may result from construction turnover, and ensuing commissioning activities, and tracking all punch-lists to closure.
• Responsible for coordination with operations personnel as it relates to plant start-up and clean turnover to operations.
• Ideal candidate may have previously worked as: SCADA Programing - Renewable Energy Commissioning - Cx – SCADA.
• Walks down systems, develops and manage punch-lists.
• Reviews project completion packages for completeness and accuracy to as built.
• Interfaces with project's designated safety, engineering and quality control parties.

Preferred Background:

Electrical Engineering or Controls and E&I. 5+ years SCADA experience

• Electrical construction and commissioning means and methods knowledge including NEC and NFPA
• PLC programming
• Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting
• E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup and troubleshooting
• Drawing review and field electrical quality control inspection
• Organization and progress reporting
• Computer skills Outlook, PDF edit  Word, Excel, document control systems and PowerPoint
• Communication with third parties and suppliers
• Schedule and planning understanding
