We are searching for E&C Engineer – IV (Engineering and Construction Engineer) for a 1+ year contract assignment.  This is an engineering role to support carbon reduction initiative. The technology that the client is installing is part of their strategic fleet transformation. This person will be working with plant, operations and construction crews in addition to the project team

 

Locations: Onsite in Becker, MN

 

This role will be a Sr level Mechanical Engineer. This position will be operating out of the office and eventually supporting the construction. Person would need to be on site 2-3 days per week on site in either direction, depending on the state of the project. The project involves modification to an existing facility.  Looking for a person with experience supporting an operating facility in an operations or maintenance support role.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • This role will be more meeting focused as the team works through reviewing design, coordinating procurement activities, etc.
  • When the project is into construction phase, day will change. The day to day for this role may be more diverse. 
  • The project team does operate out of the plant in the office those few days per week and to also allow for some face-to-face interaction with the team.
  • As the project moves into the construction phase, this engineering support role will support the construction crews as well.  Next summer when some of the construction activities might start.
  • Some interaction with operating plant staff. This person will be supporting the plant, however, working closely with 6-7 project team members: consisting of project manager, electrical engineer, construction manager, etc. with some supporting full time and others supporting as needed.
  • There is upwards of 200 people operating within the plant site supporting operations. 
  • This is an 40 hrs work week, but it could potentially move to 6 days per week/10-hour days once construction begins.

 

Qualifications / Education / Experience:

  • Must have a Degree in Engineering such as mechanical
  • 8-10 yrs. experience in construction, design drawing and working closely with construction/field crews. 
  • Operate independently on the construction site to support the construction process/schedule as efficient as possible.
  • Project management background and had related experience or credentials it would be b Background in utilities, industrial construction, potentially a Manufacturing background.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong written/verbal communication. Self-driven/ability to operate independently. 
  • Should be a team player and have the ability to effectively problem solve.
