We are searching for Planner Scheduler II(NERC Transmission Operator or Reliability Coordinator ) for 11 months contract assignment.

 

Location:   Juno Beach, FL 

 

Job Purpose: This position will have the responsibility and authority to schedule and dispatch client’s generation resources to economically balance load and generation in order to meet real-time system conditions and to comply with applicable regulatory requirements and NERC reliability standards.

 

This position is also responsible to evaluate and approve OASIS requests and Tags and for performing energy accounting functions. Also, has capability to perform next-day generation planning function and can perform, on a temporary basis, certain system operator functions whenever the on-shift System Operator is away from desk (bathroom breaks, etc.).

 

Job description:

  • Perform load forecast in order to optimize the client’s generation dispatch mix. Use proper tools to project dispatch needs for the hours-ahead and update the Dispatch Plan to ensure sufficient generation resources are available to meet generation requirements while minimizing production costs.  
  • Run Economy A program to provide EMT with generation and cost projections to be used for economy purchases and sales.
  • Evaluate and approve OASIS requests - Receive, evaluate and approve/deny all Tags that involved and Implement and verify all purchase, sales and wheeling schedules in the client’s interchange transaction system

 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in related field of study or equivalent work experience - 5+ years’ experience in a combination of the following areas:  

  • NERC Transmission Operator or Reliability Coordinator
  • Power systems field, planning, and/or operations
  • NERC certified operation experience or Power system –
  • Professional certification - Advance ability with analysis and problem solving, integrity & compliance, communications, leadership, process/project management and professional skills -

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements –
  • Ability to work extended hours –
  • Ability to work a varied schedule / rotating shift / evening / weekends / holidays as required
  • Ensure rapid recovery from loss of generation to comply with NERC requirements - -
  • Perform hourly and on-peak/off-peak energy accounting functions with adjacent balancing authorities

 

Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in engineering or any related field of study or equivalent work experience - Power Coordinator
