Project Estimator l

We are searching for a Project Estimator l for a 1+ year contract assignment. This position will be filled by an individual with experience in estimating or construction. 

This person will be a key member of the inventive and vibrant preconstruction estimating team and will support design of projects for the client. The ideal candidate has experience in estimating, a highly developed understanding of construction means and methods, a deep understanding of construction requirements and robust project management skills. In this role, you will collaborate with cross functional teams involved in project development, planning and execution to develop project estimates and improve estimating tools.

Day to day responsibilities include leading the preparation of estimate and the development of pricing models. The candidate will have the ability to grow their skillset, and potentially branch out to all technologies we work on including wind energy, solar energy, energy storage, oil and gas pipelines, transmission lines, substations, and simple & combined cycle fossil power generation.

Job Overview

This position develops, quantifies, costs, and provides a complete capital expenditure (CapEx) model for evaluating projects. CapEx models include all engineering, material, direct construction, and indirect construction costs. Employees in this role provide technical guidance, estimating knowledge, market pricing, and staffing considerations during the estimating process.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Prepares capital cost estimates

* Review designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives when appropriate

* Coordinate and interface on a regular basis with other departments to ensure communication and understanding of proposal/project objectives and the most efficient and productive utilization of resources

* Review layouts, designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggests alternatives when appropriate

* Remains current with technology and industry evolution in order to assure that project capital estimates anticipate the correct market conditions

* Establish, build and implement metric's for cost and construction estimate

Qualifications / Education / Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

Experience: 3+ years in estimating or construction on large, heavy civil projects in the power market sector

• Strong preference for candidates with previous experience in renewables.

• Construction Management
• Experience:5+ years in estimating or construction on large, heavy civil projects in the power market sector.
