We are searching for Regulatory Analyst, Sr on behalf of our client.  This is a 3-month  contract assignment.   The Analyst will help support a team of eight in the design, management and implementation of enterprise - wide strategies and tactics to enhance the grassroots advocacy capabilities at the state and local level.

 

The role will report to the Executive Director, Strategic Engagement of Regulatory & Political Affairs, but will closely coordinate with five or more Directors, as well as NEER Development, Marketing and Communications, IT and External Affairs. Special projects may be assigned from time to time by the Vice President overseeing the team as well.

 

The engagement program seeks to develop long term strategies to strengthen the client’s  relationship with key state and local officials, community leaders and landowners by developing an “always on” approach that is focused on a long-term engagement with key localities and states.

 

The Analyst benefits from professional experience in the areas of strategic communications, political offices, or work in state and local government. Previous corporate experience is desired. The program will draw on resources from across the business units, so cross-functional experience is desired. The position is based in Juno Beach, FL. Some travel may be required (approximately 10%).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Analyzes and reports on changes in regulations, legislation, or permitting requirements and their expected impacts
  • Assists management in the monitoring of local, state and/or federal regulatory and legislative development to identify issues affecting company's operations and plans
  • Assists in coordinating the representation of organization's interests before state and local regulatory and legislative bodies and/or Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) and Independent System Operators (ISOs) as applicable
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Oversee contracting and invoicing for public affairs assets and advocacy partners supporting program;
  • Create simple financial models and budget tools that support the planning and growth of the program.
  • Maintain key information systems and collaborative systems that fuel the activities of the program including: Monday.com, SharePoint, PowerBI, and contribute to the team’s adoption of cross company systems such as Salesforce, and internal proprietary systems (Omni and GIFTS);
  • Support senior management communications and standing meetings that advance the program and its objectives, including through the preparation of regular reports such as Project Closeout Reports of lessons learned.
  • Monitor standing calls and track action items as backup to other team members as needed.
  • Coordinate and help prepare for standing Campaigns team calls—internal to team, and with cross- functional colleagues such as Marketing & Communications, Digital Advocacy, Development, Land Services, Environmental Services, Community Engagement, etc.
  • Assist Directors in organizing bi-annual Strategy Meetings at headquarters, and around the country for statewide teams as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining database of third party resources that support key messages for campaign activities in partnership with Marketing & Communications and Digital Advocacy teams, along with Development partners;
  • Assist in maintaining database of potential advocacy allies and partners for consideration, including vetting potential partners.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 3+ years
  • Must have a proven track record of successful experience in campaign or issue management, a familiarity with the political process and electoral politics and have solid exposure to traditional campaign tactics such as paid, earned and social media, as well as community engagement and related organizational alliances and partnerships.
