Data Center Technician – 6 Months

Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive new equipment
• Assess for damage
• Verify model and serial numbers from packing slip or invoice
• Add to inventory control system
• Relocate or stage equipment
• Provide notification and status
• Work with Data Center and Network Administrators to determine where equipment needs to be racked
• Request network connectivity drawings
• Rack, cable, and power equipment per specifications
• Perform walkdowns, create and apply labels, and run cables
• Maintain all data center related documentation, diagrams and rack elevation drawings
• Maintain Data Centers in a safe, clean and productive status
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds and work from a step ladder at heights up to 96” to reach cable raceways
• Assist Data Center team with equipment decommissioning and disposal
• Work locations will be three facilities in greater Richmond area
• This in an onsite not remote work position

Education and Experience

High School Diploma / Equivalent

Data Center and network/server cabling experience
