We are searching for Transmission GIS Analyst on behalf of our client.   This is a 1 yr. contract.  assignment. The expansion of the transmission system will pave the way for a carbon-free future that allows renewables to be implemented in resource optimal locations and transported to load centers. The Transmission Analyst - GIS will work with management and project developers in support of transmission development throughout the US and Canada. The person is responsible for supporting Sr Transmission Analysts – GIS with data modeling, moderately complex special projects including maps, digital data, reports, and statistics; identify and deliver innovative solutions and development paths; and coordinate completion of projects with quality deliverables.

The person in this role will be providing Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping, technical support, and data analysis, mining, and maintenance, to meet internal and external customers’ requirements. This position supports development and land acquisition goals related to the client’ current projects and RFP submissions.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides support for routing and site suitability analysis for substation and transmission projects.
  • Provides map production to executives, management, multidiscipline business units, RFP responses, etc.
  • Able to interpret and map legal descriptions from exhibits, deeds, tax appraisers.
  • Completes research to correct and update existing databases.
  • Performs data mining activities to acquire publicly available data.
  • Provides specialized queries and reports to meet customer requirements/specifications.
  • Interfaces with users; documents/maps requested/needed changes.
  • Skilled with Model Builder, to help automate current manual processes.

  • Bachelor's – GIS, Geography
  • Experience: 2+ years

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's – GIS, Geography
  • Experience: 5+ years
  • Experience in Utilities
