We are searching for a Wind Technician (Entry level) on behalf of our clients.  This is a 1 yr. contract assignment.   The person will be performing regular preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment.  The person would also perform electrical/electronic and mechanical troubleshooting as required.   

 

Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.  This position requires working outdoors in inclement weather, climbing ladders without assistance and limited supervision following appropriate company safety and environmental policies. 

 

Location:  Palm Beach Gardens, FL

This is an onsite position.

  • Schedule: Position follows a 12-hour rotating shift that requires candidate to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining all company supplied equipment, facilities and tooling.   Position requires a highly motivated and self-directed individual with analytical and problem-solving skills. The use of computer-based applications is required.
  • Must be able to climb freestanding wind turbine towers and work in a team environment.  These towers can be of tubular and/ or lattice construction and can be more than 200 feet from the ground. 
  • Completing reports and paperwork as required.  Must possess a strong mitigating mindset for safety and risk avoidance.
  • Must be willing and able to perform both call-out and extended hour overtime and travel when required.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Technical Associates/Bachelors Degree in Power Generation/Renewables preferred or combination of education and power generation/industrial experience.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite; exposure to statistical tools and techniques.
  • Valid Drivers License is required.

 

Position will execute all critical Renewable Operations Control Center processes, including, but not limited to:

  • Plant Start-Up/Shutdown (Curtailment)
  • Daily Work Management (troubleshooting and outage restoration)
  • Energy Market Communications.

 

This position will have a strong emphasis on Solar and Energy Storage System experience, including, but not limited to:

  • Remote inverter restoration
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics using SCADA and data historian.
