About the role:
As a Design Drafter you will support engineering and maintenance teams by preparing routine 2D drawings and limited 3D models using CAD software. You will convert sketches and design inputs into accurate technical documents while ensuring compliance with industry standards and company procedures. Supervisors oversee work that follows well‑defined processes.
You will report to the Manager of Engineering Design and be located at Ogden, UT. You will support this role 100% onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create basic 2D CAD drawings and simple 3D models based on engineer or technician input
- Convert rough sketches, field measurements, and markups into accurate and detailed drawings
- Collect and organize technical specifications from engineering criteria and manuals
- Maintain digital files, drawing databases, and version control according to department standards
- Ensure that all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Assist senior drafters and engineers with routine tasks, following well‑established drafting procedures.
- Heavy industrial plant setting supporting maintenance, engineering, and operations teams
- Work is routine and supervised.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma plus certificate in drafting, CAD, or related technical area; or equivalent experience.
- 6 months Minimum - working on a job site where you interacted with mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering drawings.
- Basic proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $50,738 to $65,511 per year.
