Location: Ogden, UT
Duration: 10-12 Weeks; begin in May 2025
The Internship Experience
As an Environmental Tech Intern, your day to day will be dynamic, fast-paced and engaging. You will have opportunities for:
- Collaboration with EHS leaders across the organization.
- Networking throughout all levels and functions of the company.
- Project-based hands-on assignments.

Your contributions will directly contribute to maintaining a safe and healthful work environment and mitigating environmental impacts, both tactically and strategically.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the development and implementation of Health and Safety standards and programs.
- Participate in EHS team meetings; regularly present on EHS topics and project progress.
- Contribute to problem solving with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct hazard assessments, and make recommendations for mitigations
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for regulatory compliance.
- Participate in accident investigations to identify causes and corrective actions.
- Work as part of an inspection or audit team.
- Develop safety briefs, training materials and provide training to improve EHS knowledge.
- Analyze data, suggest corrective actions, develop reports.
Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire or closely similar.
- Completion of occupational safety, environmental or industrial hygiene coursework is required.
- Must be a completed Sophomore with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Some experience with safety regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, standard computer applications.
- Ability to function in a constantly evolving environment and balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- Capability to use diverse resources, respond quickly, understand the impact of changes and decisions, facilitate agreement, and build collaborative relationships.
- Ability to function in a constantly evolving environment and balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Reliable transportation for commuting to and from work locations (<50 miles).
- Willingness/ability to travel to other Westinghouse locations which may include international travel.
