Scope: Develop, implement and maintain computer and information systems of limited scope to satisfy complex business requirements.
Your day to day
Implement standards contained in Westinghouse "Codes of Business Ethics & Conduct." Ensure that all employees reporting to this position are informed about the standards and related policies and enforce them within this supervised activity.
- Design, program, test, debug, implement and document new individual computer programs and modifications to existing programs under direction of higher classified personnel.
- Diagnose and resolve systems problems attributable to assigned programs in timely fashion.
- Analyze recommendations for system modifications or development, and research alternatives to optimize system design and reduce costs for assigned system areas.
- Collaborate and follow through on assignments in line with project strategy as member of systems project team. Cooperate with personnel performing related phases of technical work on project.
- Interface with functional users and senior systems personnel to discuss applicable design alternatives and identify additional systems requirements.
- Assist in/develop detailed specifications from which programs are written.
- Present oral and/or written reports and proposals covering system improvements or modifications.
- Assist in researching new developments in data processing techniques, computer hardware and software, systems design, and programming techniques.
Who you are:
- Technical knowledge of appropriate programming languages, software engineering techniques and an understanding of business theories/practices in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems etc.
- Technical Bachelor’s degree and typically zero to three years of professional experience.
- Experience in object-oriented programming, such as Python, JAVA, or .NET
- Relational database experience such as SQL or Oracle
- Code management Azure Dev Ops
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team
