Major Focus of Position:  Provide engineering support for the development, implementation, and maintenance of calibration processes and procedures within our zirconium production facility.  This role will require a deep understanding of both the technical aspects of measurement systems and the rigorous standards required in the nuclear industry. The Calibration Engineer will work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance to ensure instruments and standards are correctly calibrated and tracked.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine calibrations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain protocols and procedures for the instruments and standards calibrated.
  • Ensure compliance with industry, regulatory, company, and product-assurance requirements and protocols.
  • Maintain calibration records in accordance with requirements and best practices.
  • Support internal and external audits and customer surveillances.
  • Address customer and regulatory requirements and concerns. 
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on calibration system, procedures, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve calibration-related issues in real time to minimize production downtime.
  • Identify and implement calibration process improvement opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity. 

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • B.S. in Engineering Degree
  • 5 Years minimum of engineering experience
  • Familiarity with calibration systems
  • Familiarity with ISO, NIST, and other related protocols
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and technical skills
  • Strong teamwork skills – including leadership and participation
  • Oral and written communication skills must be clear, concise, and convincing
