About the role:

As a Category Manager you will partner with a category team to improve cost, quality, delivery, and reliability to reach organizational goals. You will grow a category management team in an assigned category (automation and/or equipment). We require relationship skills to manage organizational needs, project timelines, and resource management.

You will report to the Director Supply Chain Capital, Global Category Management and be located in Spain or in France or in Belgium.

Model of work: hybrid.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain an overall category strategy to meet organizational goals.
  • Guide the segmentation of assigned spend into appropriate category and subcategory groupings.
  • Improve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while securing supply continuity through identifying and mitigating current and potential risks and opportunities in the category plan.
  • Ensure smooth execution of the category strategy through collaboration with our preferred suppliers. This involves "right-sizing" non-preferred suppliers and rewarding preferred partners with business awards.
  • Lead main business reviews (SRM) with strategic suppliers to lead the category strategy and completion of category goals.
  • Review presentations for supplier relationship management meetings, category plans, risk mitigation proposals, 4-Blockers, and gap analysis.
  • Create a plan to deliver annual results against metrics of payment terms, on-time delivery, productivity, inflation, and other metrics as determined by Leadership.
  • Research and track industry trends, best practices, applicable indices, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage.
  • Develop a productive working relationship with multiple departments: Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Procurement.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of procurement experience, preferably within industries with complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects, with a focus on procurement.
  • Experience in negotiations including Request for Information Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation and contract development.
  • BA/BS degree in any field of engineering, business field of study or similar.
  • Benchmark, Competitive Intelligence, and Procurement Projects Management skills.
  • Experience with vendor management including purchase order issuance, execution, and administration.
  • Experience collaborating with teams across all levels of the organization, ability to cultivate dynamic teams to lead project to successful completion.
  • Focus on daily continuous improvement in standard work, talent development, and risk mitigation to exceed organizational goals.
  • Maintain long term productive relationship with suppliers.
  • Advanced proficiency in Project ERP system or similar system experience in a global environment is beneficial (SAP & Ariba).
