About the role:

As a Sr Engineer you will be part of the Fuel Rod & Thermal-Hydraulic Design team and perform standard and non-standard Reactor Core Thermal Hydraulic analysis work, following and understanding approved methodologies, procedures and internal processes. Your analyses will support safe plant operation by determining design bases and limits that meet safety and regulatory criteria for plant, reactor core and fuel design.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and be located at Villejust (France) . This position is hybrid with the possibility to work from home 3 days per week.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Participate in introductory training focused on standard analyses and obtain qualifications in the Reactor Core Thermal Hydraulic Design Functional Area
  • Reactor Core Thermal Hydraulics addresses heat removal from the reactor fuel and coolant flow in the reactor core under normal operation and accident conditions.  
  • Resolve and provide technical leadership for complex, emergent and industry issues, redesigns, model development and interface with our customers and other departments within Westinghouse.
  • Support and provide technical leadership for special projects
  • Provide expertise and consultation to technical panels, reviews, committees, regulators, customers, and partners on various Reactor Core Thermal Hydraulic related topics
  • Support general code, procedure and method development updates
  • Develop automation (via Java, Python) to promote efficiency and error reduction for standard analyses and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Nuclear, Mechanical)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience   
  • Comfortable in leading meetings and developing and delivering presentation
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Computer programing skills
