As a Field Services Project Manager Apprentice, you will act as a key coordinator for the projects assigned to you, supporting their successful delivery throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closeout.
You will help ensure projects achieve their objectives by coordinating activities, managing stakeholders, and supporting compliance with safety, quality, contractual, and operational requirements.
You will join the Steam Generator Business Unit and primarily support operational activities related to Steam Generator Sludge Lancing projects.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work across nuclear power plant sites in France (minimum 20% of your time), office-based activities (approximately 40%), and remote work when appropriate (approximately 40%). You may also contribute to projects at other Westinghouse locations in France and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Coordination
- Support the management and integration of all project aspects, including safety, schedule, cost, revenue, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholder management.
- Help ensure contractual commitments are met while supporting customer satisfaction and long-term business performance.
- Apply Westinghouse Project Management Requirements (WPMR) and project management processes.
- Monitor project schedules and milestones to ensure successful execution.
- Measure project performance through key performance indicators (KPIs), including customer satisfaction, operational performance, and financial performance.
- Support the development and maintenance of project forecasts, including Estimate at Completion (EAC), risk mitigation plans, and cost optimization initiatives.
Stakeholder & Contract Management
- Maintain effective communication with project teams, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with Contract Managers to:
- Interpret contractual requirements
- Support contract change management activities
- Identify business development opportunities
- Participate in customer meetings and negotiations when appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with all project stakeholders.
Project Controls & Documentation
- Create, maintain, and monitor project records within company systems and databases.
- Ensure project documentation and correspondence are properly managed and accessible.
- Support project reporting activities, including performance reviews and status updates.
- Participate in project closeout activities, including:
- Documentation archiving
- Financial closure
- Resource management updates
- Final quality assessments
- Lessons learned reviews
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve project performance and execution.
- Contribute to corrective actions and recovery plans when required.
- Support knowledge sharing and the implementation of lessons learned.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Education
- Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's level qualification (Engineering School or equivalent).
Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
- Experience or interest in SAP is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment with strong safety, quality, and customer requirements.
- Professional English proficiency is appreciated.
