About the role:

As an Operational Buyer, you will support Westinghouse's Global Supply Chain Solutions team by leading sourcing activities, negotiating commercial agreements, and securing goods and services that support critical business operations. You will include managing supplier relationships, evaluating commercial risk, and driving cost-saving initiatives across assigned commodities. You will help strengthen supply chain performance by analysing supplier proposals, supporting contract lifecycle activities, and ensuring procurement activities align with business objectives. Main activities involve sourcing materials, equipment, components, and services while maintaining accurate contract and purchasing data.

You will report to the Supply Chain Operations Team Lead – ESC Operations – US and be located at Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. This position will be offered as a hybrid role. Employees working in hybrid roles are expected to work onsite at our Peterborough, Ontario office 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead commercial sourcing activities, including RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, terms and conditions, and purchase agreements for assigned commodities
• Manage sourcing activities from supplier engagement through purchase order issuance and contract execution
• Conduct supplier and market risk assessments, including material cost trends and capacity constraints
• Support supplier performance management, contract amendments, renewals, claims resolution, and cost reduction initiatives

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or purchasing within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, or equivalent
• Experience in sourcing processes, supplier negotiations, and contract management activities
• Proficiency with SAP or comparable enterprise procurement systems

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $78,400 to $98,000 per year.
