About the role:

As a CNC Programmer, you will develop, optimize and maintain CNC machining programs for Mazak machine tools using Mastercam software. Your work will support milling, turning and multi-axis machining while improving cycle times, setup efficiency and product quality. You will also provide hands-on support during machine setup, program prove-out and first-piece validation while resolving programming, tooling and machining issues.

You will report to the Manufacturing Manager and assigned to our Peterborough, Ontario, Canada facility. This is an onsite position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and modify Mastercam programs, toolpaths, setup sheets, tooling plans and fixturing requirements.
  • Program Mazak equipment using Mazatrol and G-code, and simulate and verify programs before production release.
  • Support machine setup, prove-out and first-piece validation while troubleshooting shop-floor programming and machining issues.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications and 3D models to select machining methods, cutting tools, fixtures and work-holding solutions.
  • Improve machining practices to reduce setup time, scrap and cycle time while meeting safety, GD&T, quality and customer requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Machining, Tool and Die, or an equivalent field.
  • Advanced proficiency using Mastercam for milling, turning and multi-axis machining.
  • Experience programming Mazak equipment using Mazatrol and G-code.
  • Experience Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T requirements and 3D models.

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $67,500 to $84,250 per year.
