About the Opportunity

 

Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada.  The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions.

 

As a part of our growing operation in Peterborough, the successful candidate will be responsible for oversight and coordination of all activities related to delivery of manufacturing projects. 

 

What will you do?

Your day to day: 

  • Coordinating delivery of project manufacturing activities and deliverables to ensure customer commitments are met.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to monitor and report on cost and schedule commitments 
  • Initiate and lead appropriate escalations related to any project health concerns
  • Responsibility for planning and reporting processes related to project delivery (e.g. schedule updates, resource forecast, etc)
  • Communicate project status to internal WEC stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Manufacturing operations that focus on productivity, cost improvement and/or streamlining planning and execution activities.
  • Some travel may be required to support customers

 

What will you bring?

Who you are: 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in coordination/execution of projects. Manufacturing and/or Nuclear industry experience is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma/degree in a relevant technical field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfortable leading meetings and giving presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, experience working effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

     

      Preferred:

  • PMP certification
  • P.Eng. in relevant field
  • Proficiency in P6 (or similar scheduling software) is a strong asset
  • Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP software) is a strong asset
