Job Purpose

Perform various manufacturing / production tasks and material handling duties as assigned to support the manufacturing team, as well as general facility and asset maintenance and repair at Westinghouse Electric Canada, Peterborough.

Typical Duties:

- General manufacturing duties including but not limited to component cleaning, identification, packaging, paint touch-up, filling production orders to a pick list etc.

- supporting shipping and receiving with material handling of incoming and outgoing products and components

- supporting shipping and receiving with packaging and un-packaging of materials and goods

- saw cutting raw materials

- Stocking or retrieving items in stores.

- supporting production with movement of in process material and components throughout the production facility.

- General labeling and identification of equipment and components

- General housekeeping duties and equipment cleaning.

- General facility maintenance and repairs such as but not limited to plumbing, painting, basic snow removal, general equipment and tool maintenance and basic repairs.

Job Scope Factors

- Has excellent safety awareness and some record of training (WHMIS, Lifting…etc.)

- Some experience or background, preferably in an industrial manufacturing or production role.

- Material handling, crane and /or lift truck qualifications or experience.

- general understanding of mechanical repairs and maintenance with a moderate amount of technical aptitude.

- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and calendar functions.

- Demonstrate knowledge of safe handling of materials, wood working, power tools, and the ability to recognize unsafe situations.

- Read and understand fundamental drawings and other instructions.

- Communicate well with others (peers, supervisors)
