Project Management Intern - 2025 JANUARY INTERNSHIP (12 MONTH DURATION PREFERRED)

Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid working arrangement of up to 3 days per week onsite)

 

About the Opportunity

 

Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada.  The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions.

 

The Project Management Intern is accountable for supporting Project Managers in the delivery of engineering, manufacturing and outage projects for our customers within the CANDU Nuclear industry.

 

What will you do?

Your day to day: 

  • Support Project Managers in execution of the full project lifecycles from proposal through to implementation including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and close-out. Day to day responsibilities including:
  • Tracking project actions and following up with owners to ensure on-time completion
  • Support project cost and scheduling activities as required
  • Maintain project documentation in accordance with contract and quality assurance requirements
  • Generate internal and external project status reports
  • Collect, input and organize project data from various sources, including documentation and distribution of project meeting minutes
  • Ensure regular clear, consistent and accurate communication with project stakeholders.
  • Travel to customer and other office locations as required

 

What will you bring?

Who you are: 

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree – Engineering or Project Management field preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, clear and concise
  • Proficient in excel and Microsoft programs
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing or project management through a combination of work and study is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Nuclear Industry is an asset
