About the role:
As a GAC Manager Eastern Europe you will provide leadership and oversight of the daily accounting and monthly close processes along with compliance with annual statutory reporting requirements for legal entities in eastern Europe. You will guide compliance with accounting close processes, procedures and control activities to ensure the efficient consolidation of global financial results. The job requires adherence to US Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (US GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), country-specific legal entity accounting frameworks and Westinghouse internal management reporting requirements. You will require close working relationships across the Global Finance organization to guarantee a seamless hand-off of consolidated financial results for both internal and external reporting deliverables. Provide leadership to the GAC team to nurture professional development. This is an individual contributor role.
You will report to the Senior Manager EMEA GAC and be located in Czech Republic.
Model of work: remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide governance and oversight of the in Eastern Europe accounting close processes under US GAAP.
- Provide governance and oversight for same country legal entities under local accounting frameworks to support periodic regulatory filing requirements including being the primary liaison with local auditors.
- Assist the Senior Manager EMEA GAC in developing strategic direction of the international GAC organization through long term and short-term goals.
- Identify projects to enhance the effectiveness of in-country accounting and reporting processes including the development of enhanced documented processes, and technology enhancements/automation wherever necessary.
- Improve adherence to Westinghouse global accounting processes to ensure compliance and consistency of results.
- Ensure the Global Accounting function meets all requirements with internal controls and identified SOX requirements.
- Ensure business partnering with Treasury, Tax, Legal and other team members in maintaining compliance with in-country regulatory requirements.
- Provide quantitative and qualitative support to the Westinghouse consolidated financial statement preparation and external audit processes.
- Communicate with legal entity executives on financial results.
- Oversee the successful integration/disposition of all new acquisitions and divestitures.
- Provide support, coordination, and management in the development of accounting positions.
- Support global tax teams for local country tax filings and associated audits.
- Promote professional development within the GAC team through talent management practices and strategies
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional experience.
- Knowledge of general accounting and consolidation in a multinational organization.
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- We require a B.A. in Accounting / Finance plus 5 years of financial leadership experience.
- Previous global consolidation and general ledger maintenance/management.
- We require experience with statutory reporting requirements internationally.
- Accounting skills and control consciousness
- Understanding of adherence to, and adoption of, corporate procedures in cross region/ MNC environment.
- Experience in driving operational improvements and promoting best practice adoption.
