Mechanical Engineering Trainer – 2 positions available
Springfield Fuels in Preston are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to deliver a programme of training for our apprenticeship programme. It is essential you have a relevant Level 3 Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
If you are interested in developing the future skills needs in Lancashire this is an opportunity to join an Ofsted ‘Good’ (July 2022) Independent Training Provider with an employer working in a reputable and knowledgeable small team of Engineering Trainers within our Springfields Training Academy.
The main purpose of this role is to deliver practical and theoretical teaching sessions to a cohort of engineering apprentices from within and outside the company. Your role will also involve completing off-site reviews/assessments.
The role will be delivering training topics including:
- Bench fitting, basic machining and hand tools.
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Valves and control tightening
- Gaskets, seals, coupling alignment, bearings and belts.
Main Duties:
- To design, develop and deliver engaging and inclusive learning programmes, schemes. of work, lesson plans and material to deliver high quality structured learning sessions.
- Contribute to the internal verification, assessment and standardisation of work process and to the development and delivery, in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
- Maintain the required learner tracking records relating to learner progress, achievement, in line with specified apprenticeship and training standards.
- Enable apprentice placement managers to support the management of learner behaviour.
- To ensure all delivered session resources are safe for use and Stock is ordered and managed to maintain the required level consumable items.

- Strong presentation skills via variety of methods
Education
You will have a minimum of Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or equivalent
Assessor qualification is essential.
IV qualification is preferrable.
HNC/HND is preferrable.
